VMWare introduced its vSphere 4 operating system for cloud computing. It will appear on the market in the second quarter of 2009. The feature of vSphere 4, unlike, for example, the same Hyper-V, in support of a larger number of guest OS.
The system supports up to 32 physical servers (up to 2048 cores), 1280 virtual machines, up to 32 TB of RAM, 16 PB of disk space and up to 8 thousand network ports.
Another feature of the system is the creation of a backup copy of the program process running in memory in case of a failure of the maintenance hardware (Fault Tolerance). ')
