When installing Ubuntu 9.04 I encountered a bug in ubiquity (installer ubunt). The installer crashed to 88% - at the moment when the settings were imported from other operating systems. Although I did not choose anything, and there was no window with a choice, he (the installer) tried to import something from somewhere. After a long search, I found the root of the problem. It turned out to be installed next to Crunchbang . And accordingly import from it something unintelligible.
