Twitter will swallow the world: the number of users has increased to 19 million

The path to world domination continues at a rapid pace. This morning, comScore published its global number for March 2009. Based on this data, the number of website visitors worldwide in March increased by 95% from 9.8 million to 19.1. For comparison, the United States has 9.3 million visitors.

These numbers only show visitors to the site and do not include people who use Twitter using a PC client or a mobile phone (most users). But comScore data is a good indicator of overall twitter growth.

If Twitter will develop at a pace that by the summer the number of users could reach 50 million.
