Status bar for dwm
The “dwm” window manager has a modest status line to which you can display arbitrary text, for example: current date and time, battery charge level, system load percentage, and so on.
I wrote a Perl script for myself to keep track of the time, speed of the network stream, memory and processor load, sound level and playing music. It looks like this:
