Ukrainian mega-botnet

Security experts from Finjan have discovered a new giant botnet. The number of zombie PCs is growing every hour. Yesterday the counter showed 1.953.448 infected machines, but the other day their number could exceed two million. Among those infected are corporate networks, large banks and 77 state organizations of different countries. According to the first estimates, this network surpasses even the famous Storm botnet.

What is most interesting, the botnet is managed from Ukraine. Already identified six people who are involved in this. At one of the Russian hacker forums, a commercial offer for renting a botnet was found.

Currently, only 4 out of 39 popular anti-virus packages are able to detect a trojan through which an infected system is managed. These are AVG, DrWeb, NOD32 and Panda (see screenshot ).
