IFPI boycott

Many people know that the International Federation of Recording Companies IFPI has won the trial of the owners of the torrent tracker "The Pirate Bay". Many dissatisfied with the decision of the court took part in the DDoS-attacks of IFPI sites. I suppose it is pointless and illegal.

It seems to me that it would be much more meaningful to publish a list of products (music, video, etc.) issued by companies belonging to IFPI - so that everyone can decide for themselves in practice whether to join the boycott of this organization.

Personally, I did not use “The Pirate Bay” and this decision did not hurt me at all. But in view of the legislative prohibitions already occurring and still being prepared regarding the dissemination of information on the Internet (for example, in Sweden they made a criminal offense of downloading ANY media content from the Internet - including content that does not violate copyrights, for example, distributed by the authors themselves) , it would be worthwhile to demonstrate that any violation of the rights of third parties, lobbied in defense of their own wallet, will bring tangible losses to the initiators - both in financial and image sense .
