IFPI DoS Hackers (iat) in retaliation for Pirate Bay

The site of the International Federation of Recording Companies IFPI on 04/21/09 was under a distributed DoS attack. Thus, a group of sympathetic hackers revenge on the organizers of the trial of the owners of torrent trackers The Pirate Bay, who were found guilty of copyright infringement last Friday.

Details of the retaliation against IFPI and its lawyers were discussed on AnonNet's IRC channels, in which 250 hackers took part. According to the plan, ifpi.org should be under a DDoS attack at least throughout Monday, reports The Register.

At 17:30 04/21/09, ifpi.org was unavailable, as well as ifpi.com, which testifies to the successful implementation of this plan.

“They want to let everyone know that IFPI has no right to joke with the Internet and that the Internet is a serious business,” the AnonNet administrator explained the position of hackers from the retaliation group.

Supporters of Pirate Bay conducted similar attacks on ifpi.org, ifpi.com and ifpi.se in February of this year, when the trial of the owners of the tracker had just begun. Then one of the Pirbuchites, Peter Sunde, asked those involved in the attacks to end the war, saying that “the trial is going well” and that DDoS attacks can only harm the reputation of Pirate Bay.

The trial really went quite well, but it ended much worse - all the defendants were sentenced to prison terms and very substantial fines. Peter Sunde assures that none of his fellows in misfortune can and will not pay.

“If I had any money, I would rather burn them all, without even giving them ashes,” said Sunde.

While The Pirate Bay’s lawyers are preparing to appeal the Swedish court’s verdict, the IFPI has already expressed a desire to block Internet users from accessing this torrent tracker. However, providers twisted in response a combination of three fingers, because they believe that the court’s decision does not concern them.

It is also noteworthy that in the few days that have passed since the announcement of the verdict, the Swedish Pirate Party managed to drastically replenish its ranks from 15,000 to 21,000 people. (Nnm.ru)
