Governments around the world seek to control the Internet: the British and Swedes are trying to monitor user activity on the Internet, the Chinese have introduced censorship in the network, but Americans, as always, are ahead of the rest of the world, according to the Itwire portal.
Two US senators - Democrat John Rockefeller (John Rockefeller) and Republican Olympia Snow (Olimpia Snow) prepared a draft bill giving the US president a second “red button”, with which the country’s first person can disable access in case of emergency situations to the internet.
Not only the constant growth of tensions in the world, but also the tendency to transfer interstate disputes to the Internet, pushed them towards this decision, as we have already seen with the example of Estonia in 2007, when a series of DDOS attacks brought the state almost to bankruptcy. However, most observers consider this step premature, and are confident that there are other ways to combat terrorism in the network.
