LVEE 2009

The international gathering and conference “Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe” has been held in Belarus for the fifth year already, bringing together free communication and leisure enthusiasts.

The purpose of the LVEE is to exchange experience between specialists in the design, development, implementation, maintenance and development of Open Source solutions, as well as to involve the broader layers of the IT public in a public dialogue about the possibilities of free software, problems arising in the process of its integration and ways to solve them .

The central part of the LVEE is the International Conference of Free Software Developers and Users. The format of the conference includes presentations, workshops and round tables. At the disposal of the speakers conference room, projector, sound. By the beginning of the conference will be released a collection of theses.

The objectives of the conference are to provide participants with the opportunity to exchange experiences, organize a discussion of the most current trends and trends in the development of the industry, and accumulated practical knowledge. The meeting is designed to help establish the necessary contacts, give development to ideas, provide support for the open source community.

The conference covers a wide range of platforms - from workstations and servers, including virtualization-based solutions, to embedded systems and mobile devices. The topics traditionally include the following areas:

* development and testing of free software;
* administration of systems built on its basis;
* training of specialists in the field of free software technologies;
* experience in implementing open source solutions;
* legal and organizational features of the use of free licenses.

Any other areas related to free software and extending the above are welcome.

The languages ​​recommended for participation in the conference are Russian, Belarusian and English.

This year the event will be held July 02-05, 2009 in the vicinity of the city of Grodno.

LVEE organizers are Minsk Linux Users Group, as well as activists from Grodno and Brest.

Last year’s list of sponsors included SaM Solutions, EPAM Systems, Alatys, Promwad, BLRSoft and Onliner.

The admission fee for one participant is 120 000 BRB (~ $ 40) for 4 days or 85 000 BRB (~ $ 28) for 2 days. With a different schedule of participation, the amount of registration fee is agreed additionally. The amount includes the cost of accommodation and meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), delivery from Grodno to the conference venue and back, as well as payment of additional symbols and LVEE attributes. The authors of reports, representatives of sponsors and the press are exempt from paying the registration fee.

Applications for participation are accepted until June 12, abstracts of reports - until May 24.
