EM-SEC Technologies from North Carolina issued a press release in which it announced successful testing of the material developed by its technology division. EM-SEC 2060, as the creators called the product, is a special paint that, when applied to the walls of a room or a building, shields it from electromagnetic radiation from wireless networks: cellular or, for example, Wi-Fi.

The key component of the EM-SEC 2060 coating, which differs little from an ordinary water-based emulsion in its appearance and properties, is a complex polymer, the formula and manufacturing technology of which, for obvious reasons, is a commercial secret.

Coverage is intended primarily to ensure the information security of critical departments ( SCIF ) of private companies and government (including military) structures. Industrial espionage methods, not to mention “real” espionage, have long allowed to intercept information even from cable networks, and the theft of data from Wi-Fi channels has become a kind of urban legend, a scary story for IT-shnik. And if for the home network it will be quite enough to use standard encryption, then research laboratories, server rooms and rooms for business negotiations will not be too much to physically protect against leaks.

The development of the EM-SEC has been tested in several highly reputable organizations: Sandia Labs, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, and even the National Security Agency (NSA), which keeps the US quiet on the electronic front. As a result, the coating was approved as an effective SCIF remedy. It is not excluded that now EM-SEC will receive orders from American government agencies, which have recently been increasingly associated with scandals due to the loss of valuable personal and business information.

Civilian applications are also possible: by painting the walls of lecture halls or cinemas with such paint, you can permanently get rid of phones that do not ring.

In addition to paint, the company produces fiber, from which it makes bags and covers for electronic devices, such as PDAs and laptops. These accessories are designed to protect computers from penetrating the road.
