In this short article I will tell you about personal observations of the reasons why I, as a developer of Internet systems, refused to use Mozilla Firefox and completely switched to the side of another software tool.
The results of the observations are documented by tests and screenshots.
Preamble
Computer Features:
- AMD Phenom X4 9500
- 2048 MB RAM
- MS Vista Ultimate
Software:
- Mozilla Firefox 3.0.8
- Google Chrome 1.0.154.53
One of the areas of development - the program of warehouse accounting of small businesses.
Extjs 3.0 is used as a framework.
For a long time, Mozilla Firefox’s extremely low speed with developed software was noticed, but after the release of the first version of Google Chrome, I realized that it is not just extremely low, it is
not acceptable for work .
In addition, crashes and memory leaks of Mozilla Firefox are constantly observed:

Below are the test results.

Firebug Lite .
In any case, Google started the sprint, we have to catch the intermediate records of the participants :)
UPD: (for those who immediately flashed blood "as my idol can defile"):
this is not about crooked hands, but about comparative tests of two browsers. I do not understand the logic of those who are trying to provide obvious arguments in figures that are not reasoned.
Why ExtJs? Regarding this problem area: it well allows you to test the browser in "emergency situations", because it is very heavy and cumbersome. It does not make sense to check on the pure jquery core.
UPD2: yes, of course it was rash to post this article on the Fiery Fox blog = D
