My discovery Web 2.0: Education, myschoolog

mySchoollog is an on-line application with the help of which students and schoolchildren can organize their hard lives, save time and knowledge, create schedules and task lists. The resource works on AJAX, you do not need to wait for the pages to reload. The service is free. As always, the most remarkable thing is that this miracle is available from any place where there is a computer and the Internet, as well as using a mobile phone with Symbian. PHP project with 15.197 lines of code, the current version is beta 0.92. Developed since December 20, 2006.

Sections:
1. Occupations: we set the name of a subject, the name of the teacher, color.

2. Schedule: create a weekly schedule of classes, use drag & drop, drag items by day, set time and audience.

3. A list of “what to do is pleased” (to-do list). We ask what and when we need to do (meetings, deadlines for the assignments, anything). We can make the export of useful cases in the formats pdf, html, doc, txt. We can set a reminder of a useful business via e-mail or sms (although I did not find where the field for entering a phone number was).


4. Notes: write notes, you can do a search and sharing.

5. File storage: documents, graphics, can be sorted by subject. The size of each file is limited to 1 MB, the storage capacity is 20 MB.

After editing the schedule, cases and notes, all information is displayed on the main page.
Future of the project:
- improved access through a mobile phone;
- saving estimates, calculating averages, creating graphs;
- access to the content of sections via RSS;
- export class schedules;
- the expansion of language capabilities (French, Italian);
- organization of the university community, group, for the exchange of files and messages;
- extras section: news aggregator, periodic system of elements, links, calculator, small music player.
Disadvantages:
- lack of Russian interface;
- sometimes instead of the site we see “Can`t connect to MySQL server ...”;
- there is too little storage space for files, the file size limit is 1 MB - ???
