MTS, Megaphone and Beeline launch a common messenger

The big three Russian cellular operators launch a joint IM service called Chat.

Leaving behind the very fact of the surprising interaction of direct competitors, we will focus on the service itself.
')
Already written clients for Java MIDP2 and PC. The volume of distributions for mobile phones ranges from 64 kb to 708 kb (for some Nokia models). The PC distribution kit weighs 5.93 mb (and is very similar to the reincarnation of the Svoy’s biline messenger, launched in 2007).

To use the service, you need to connect the service "Chat" and set a password.

You can write to any subscriber of any network, search for people by nickname and phone number. In contrast to the overwhelming clouds of statuses in traditional IM pagers, the cell phones were limited to the necessary minimum, there are only five statuses in Chat: “online”, “offline”, “inactive”, “busy”, “invisible”
You can turn on SMS-notifications about new messages and logging in users. When sending a message from the application to a subscriber who does not have this service connected, he will receive a simple SMS.
To communicate on the network have allocated a separate access point. For example, Beeline is ims.beeline.ru. If you believe their site, traffic to this point will be free (apparently, payment will be made for each message separately).

Until July 1, 2009 the service is provided free of charge.

Personally, I’m wondering when support for Chat will appear in QIP.
