Symbian Foundation Announces Plans to Launch Platforms
The Symbian Foundation consortium formed last year is working on the Symbian open platform for next-generation smartphones. Alliance employee David Wood published information on software release on the official blog .
It turned out that the members of the alliance plan to release two versions of the platform annually. So by mid-2009, Symbian ^ 2, based on the S60 5th Edition Feature Pack 1, will be ready.
