2 GHz Atom

With the new Atom Z550 processor, announced Wednesday at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, Intel managed to overcome the 2 GHz threshold.

The chip is equipped with 512 KB of cache memory of the second level, runs on the system bus frequency of 533 MG and supports hyper-trading technology. Also, the Atom Z550 supports Intel Burst Performance technology, which dynamically controls the core clock frequency depending on current needs.

Most importantly, increased productivity did not affect power consumption. At Atom Z550 it is all the same 3 watts.
