Media and media. Two concepts - two styles of work
Confusion in words reflects confusion in thoughts. There is a Russian / Soviet / Russian tradition of journalism - where there is a certain initiator of creating a “channel of influence”, be it Peter, Pushkin or Lenin, and there is a certain “mass” that consumes this information. And there is a western tradition, where the media was born from the need for a certain group of people to find another group of people in order to sell it something or report something.
And now, in a world where everything is intertwined, are Russian journalists and media managers suffering from schizophrenia - are they the channels for delivering information or a platform for public communication? This is a matter of principle, because both the strategy, the business model, the selection of personnel, and the form of communication with the audience depend on the choice of the concept.
