For almost half a year, there is a juick microblogging service on the network. During this time, he managed to bring together a lot of interesting people and is now actively developing. We already wrote about the scooter at the time of its creation, but now we propose to consider what it has evolved at the moment, and at the same time we are publishing a small list of questions and answers for those who hear about it for the first time.

- What is it?

- This is a microblogging service that works through jabber. Its peculiarity is that the web interface does not play a significant role - all interaction takes place via jabber-bot. The bot sends notifications, new messages of your friends and new comments in the topics to which you are subscribed.

- How to start?

- It is enough to add the user juick@juick.com to the list of jabber-contacts and write him your first post , which will be immediately published. - And what's new for six months appeared?

- Privacy settings: control access to your messages, "black" and "white" lists.
- Different color schemes (at the time of writing the post there are three, two can be seen in the screenshots below).
- Posting pictures.
- Ability to change your JID in the settings.

- You will not take me, I know about Twitter! Why do I need your zhuk?

- As written above, the key feature of the service is in the interaction via jabber, which means you do not need a separate client for microblogging.
- Each micropost can be commented out in a separate branch, which is one of the biggest advantages compared to Twitter. And comments from signed posts can be automatically received in jabber.
- Juick has no restrictions on the size of the post (even if it has, no one has yet reached them).
- Entries can be tagged; thanks to the search for them, you can find posts on the topic of interest or people with similar interests. For an example: posts about Linux and people who write about it .

- Will you show the pictures?

Aesthetic preferences during the discussion of the article were divided, so you can look at the screenshots at once on two different color schemes for the web interface.
