Soldiers protest video game on Iraq

British officers are calling for a ban on the release of Six Days in Fallujah, the recently announced shooter dedicated to hostilities in Fallujah, which was held in Iraq in 2004.

This game, which is due to be released in early 2010 on Play Station 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, is created by Atomic Games using photos, videos, and memories from the American marines that participated in the battle for Faluja.

One of the combatants, a retired British colonel Tim Collins, comments on his protest against Six Days in Fallujah: “It’s too early to make video games on the events of the recent war, especially since it’s not over yet.” And he called the developers "insensitive."

You can understand the colonel. But the words of the president of Atomic Games, developing a game for Konami, I personally do not like. He stated that “while developing this game, we are faced with the problem of showing the horrors of war in a game that actually should entertain, and at the same time how best to show people historical events in a way that only a video game can do” .

In my opinion, the developers simply cover up the old principle behind the pathos words: “strike while the iron is hot”. After all, games created "based on" known conflicts of the past diverge with a bang. And if events happened quite recently, then the success of sales is ensured all the more.

Or maybe this constant PR is so ... difficult.
