WiFi has become a mandatory feature on smartphones
According to user surveys, WiFi communication is an extremely popular feature on smartphones. Moreover, a trend is beginning to take shape in the mass consciousness that a smartphone can no longer be considered full-fledged and modern if there is no WiFi in it.
74% of owners of smartphones with WiFi use this functionality.
77% expect WiFi on their next smartphone
From these figures it follows that WiFi should become the generally accepted standard for all mobile phones. Actually, manufacturers are moving in this direction. If now there is WiFi only in 44% of all models on the market (specifically, 311 mobile devices, including smartphones, are certified for WiFi), then in five years this figure should grow to 90%.
The survey was conducted by ABI Research among US users (a sample of 1000 people).
