Happy holiday!

... But the most unsurpassed joke is still considered to be the BBC storyline broadcast on the morning of the first day of April 1957.
“In Switzerland this year there is an unprecedented harvest of spaghetti,” the news program presenter said, “Of course, in this country the collection of spaghetti does not reach such a broad industrial scale as in Italy. Many have probably seen pictures of grand plantations in the Po valley. In Switzerland, it is rather a family matter ... "
The story was accompanied by documentary shots: a family of Swiss farmers amicably plucking pasta from the trees and putting them in baskets. “Those who love this dish know: there is nothing better than real spaghetti from their own garden,” concluded the presenter, and ... a squall of calls is coming down on the BBC. Thousands of people asked to send pasta seedlings. Particularly curious expressed surprise that pasta grows vertically and not horizontally. There were also bewildered: what, we, means, were mistaken, considering that macaroni is made of flour? But most were interested in the question: "How to grow spaghetti trees on your site?". In the editorial office of the channel they were pleasantly answered: “Plant the spaghetti sprout in a jar with tomato sauce and hope for the best.”

upd: Nowadays, there are digital technologies for fooling people. For example, here is the video shown on April 1, 2008 by the BBC channel, which tells about flying penguins (although, unlike the macaroni classics, it was a bit overdone here):
