Railways: Pleasant surprises ...

The other day there was a need to purchase train tickets. There is an interesting service on the Russian Railways website - buying tickets via the Internet. I will briefly describe my actions:

1. Registered on the site - a standard data set.
2. Logged into the site under your account information.
3. I issued tickets for myself and my children according to passport and birth certificates.
4. Entered credit card details for payment (If within 10 minutes after the receipt of the order, it is not paid, then the order is canceled).
5. Printed out two sheets with order data and barcode.
6. I arrived at Kazansky railway station, stood in the appropriate window and prepared to wait for the end of the technological break, but then an employee came to a pleasant appearance and took me to the self-service terminals. (It turns out I lost 15 minutes for nothing)
7. He brought the barcode to the scanner and entered the series and passport number without spaces.
8. I pressed the "Print" button and got my tickets.
9. Pleasantly surprised went home.

Everything was really fast, comfortable and high quality. But!

1. The wrong card was given to me at work as a payroll card, not that one! :) You can’t pay with your bank’s VISA Electron card on the Internet (they say it is allowed by some banks), in particular, I had to ask for help from a friend who has another card to buy these tickets.
2. Not very clearly, both on the website and in the very cash hall of the station it is indicated that it is possible to use terminals and not to depend on cashiers.
3. As it turned out, to get tickets, it is not necessary to go to that station, from which the train departs, you can get tickets at any station in Moscow, to which you are more comfortable. In addition, the site has a section “Where to get travel documents”, which will help you to clarify the possibility of obtaining a ticket ordered via the Internet at the station you are interested in.

Well, in conclusion, I will say that no commission fees for this type of ticket purchase are taken, as stated on the site, from 00:00 04.06.2008

Ps. This is by no means an advertisement !!! Simply, I was so impressed by the ease of purchasing a ticket that I could not share. Now I think about changing a bank card :)
