Blogging is ten years old. Unknown father

April 1, 2007, the phenomenon of online blogging marks exactly ten years. At least some researchers think so. There is no consensus among them who owns the world's first “periodic web review with links.”

A long time ago, the first sites appeared on the Internet, which were kept in the form of a weblog with links. At that time, no one called these sites blogs. According to one version , the very first blog in its current form was opened on April 1, 1997. It was the Scripting News website, and soon it will mark its tenth anniversary. The author of this blog is Dave Winer, one of the developers of such well-known technologies like RSS, podcasting and content management systems (CMS). Probably, Dave is the most important contender for wearing the proud title of “blogging father.” At least, his site is definitely the oldest existing blog on the Internet.

Here they are, the very first messages , dated April 1997

After Wiener, the real revolution began. In September 1997, Slashdot was opened, and in December of the same year, the first word on the Internet was a new word “web log”, later shortened to a simple “blog” and added to all dictionaries. To date, the number of blogs on the Web exceeds one hundred million.
