Happy birthday, fastening "F"

This year marks its fiftieth anniversary mount for photo optics such as "F", introduced by Nikon. In many ways, precisely because of this simple mechanism, SLR cameras came to the mainstream, displacing cheaper and, at times, equally convenient counterparts. In fact, today the owner of the Nikon camera can use any lens that was released 50 years ago - long before the manufacture of the DSLR itself.

Any photographer with experience will tell you that “glass” is perhaps the most important part of any camera, and Nikon always understood its professional buyers well. What is surprising is that on such a significant date the company did not come up with any surprise for its fans, like re-releasing some old-school retro cameras (like the F series, in the photo) with the D700 filling. The story should be sexy and attractive, so it is likely that by the end of the year a model will be released, simultaneously giving its due to the story and driving all Nikon guides to a frenzy.
