After watching Habratusovka here I am more and more admired by the system of social approval in action.
The most interesting thing is that mainly due to this tool, habr is much more interesting to read than LJ, and there is no mate and outright spam.
Some individuals are highly dependent on social approval and seem to have a strong motivation to seek respect for others.
But did you notice that there is a whole category of “recalcitrant” people on Habré who have strongly negative karma and it looks like they have no chance to raise their karma.

But as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
