Robots are coming. More precisely, defile

The hero Al Pacino from the film "Simon" claimed that virtual actors will soon press off capricious and in places dull "real" stars. Until this far. But in the world of fashion today can happen if not a coup, then at least an event. At the Japanese Fashion Week, which begins on March 23, the developers from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) will show a robot girl that they taught the art of defile. Taught as they could, of course. Robot, though. The girls from Victoria's Secret show of this model called HRP-4C are still far away. But nonetheless.

Looks like HRP-4C as an average Japanese. Height - 158 centimeters. Weight - 43 kilograms. The movements of the robot are far from perfect. It can be viewed in the hollow to the video (under the cut). However, HRP-4C can, due to the presence of thirty engines, walk-defile, move hands and head. In addition, eight more motors are built into the robot's head, which are responsible for facial expressions.

There is a robot-top model running the ART-Linux OS, specially developed for the HRP-4C by the team of the Human Robotics Group (HRG), working at the AIST institute.

After the release of the Japanese fashion week, the creators plan to sell their robot. More precisely, the “development kit”, which will include only the “frame” of the HRP-4C, without a face and outer shell. It will be possible to buy a model model (tautology, of course, but entertaining) for $ 200 thousand.
