Release of MDC Desktop 1.0.3.1 "Flying Pepyaka"

Today, the release of the first version of the MDC, which has its own name, and not just a number. And the name is "Flying Ppyaka." It’s difficult to answer the question why this is the case, perhaps because of the arrival of spring, and perhaps because it’s not possible to give a different name to what our designer did, the language doesn’t turn.

Below is a list of changes:

• Fixed a bug with connecting to gtalk on machines where openssl version 0.9.8j is installed;
• fixed bug with the arrival of messages from offline;
• fixed bug with saving its X-status and caption;
• fixed server loading bug;
• Fixed the bug of displaying contacts of the group “Not in the list”;
• Fixed problem with inconsistency of displaying X-status in ICQ;
• implemented the ability to install your avatar in ICQ;
• removed more nesting in the message box in the send menu. Now the menu looks like this:

• the reconnection mechanism at disconnection is improved. Unfortunately, Linux does not always work :(, but this is Qt bug, which we were promised to fix;
• fixed group sorting bug;
• thanks to our users who are very actively sending us logs , a large number of ASSERTs have been fixed;
• clicking on the question mark in the contact list now opens the FAQ page, which one of our active users helps us to compose;
• once again fixed the bug with the proxy. Full happiness will be in 1.0.3.2, in which you plan to add more detailed settings for each account;
• Improved caching and displaying avatars;
• request information about the contact when you hover the mouse on the contact in the contact list;
• the mechanism for filtering contacts in the contact list has been improved;
• Improved auto-update mechanism for Windows;
• fixed connection bug with wrong password;
• The contact sheet view changed a little (on the left, what was, on the right, what became, find the differences).

If the differences look lazy, list them:

• avatars lost black frames;
• avatars began to be displayed with the correct proportions;
• status bars get gradient fill.

We also tested MDC compiled with Qt 4.5.0, and found a number of bugs in Qt, especially under Mac OsX. The bugs mainly refer to the GUI. We reported them to Nokia. Therefore, if you have installed 4.5.0, small problems are possible. In the next version we will focus on 4.5.0.
