Scientists have modeled the formation of the galaxy

American researchers from the University of California, who conducted the work under the leadership of Yurga Dimand , managed to get the most detailed to date animation of the formation of the galaxy from dark matter.

The presence of dark matter is explained, in particular, by the fact that galaxy clusters that form clusters do not fly away in different directions, although the gravity of the observed objects is not enough to hold the galaxies together. It is also assumed that without the presence of dark matter, galaxies would have a completely different form, and supernovae would flare up brighter. However, no one has yet been able to really detect dark matter.
To begin the formation of the galaxy, according to scientists, you need a certain amount of dark matter. And for different galaxies, this number is the same.
During the simulation of the formation of the galaxy, American researchers used the most powerful supercomputer NASA. The calculations involved several hundred processors, and the data processing took about two months.
The resulting movie covers a period of about 13.7 billion years 50 million years after the Big Bang. At the same time, interaction of 234 million objects was simulated. The results of the work of American scientists can be found on this page.
