Faraday wallets and backpacks

I am surprised if for someone it will be fresh news that the sweetest dream of the government of almost any state on this planet is total and universal control over every citizen (and not a citizen) of a hypothetical country. It is for this reason that if in a bright future each baby is not sewn into the head (the probability of losing this limb approaches absolute zero, and it is for this reason that an infrared beacon with personal data is better than an arm or leg), then in the passport and credit cards - for sure.

Without being a complete paranoiac, I would still not really want my every step, every financial operation (whether it be a purchase of a condom or a car) to be tracked by “interested” persons. And I know for sure that I am so far from alone, especially among technically advanced people.

And until recently, I hadn’t thought of a completely obvious way to protect my own authenticity (even if I didn’t really think about it), but, as often happens, the Internet brought an elegant and simple solution on its tail.

A young girl, Jessica, who lives somewhere in the American open spaces, once just dropped her bag in the dirt. Desperate to find something similar, she decided to sew herself a bag herself, and a friend advised to use for this fabric, stitched with a huge amount of copper threads. As many have already understood, it turned out nothing more than a “Faraday bag”, which Jessica sells various variations on the Internet . These are bags, small bags, wallets, passport covers and, theoretically, anything. And although the prices for hand-made American women embarrass me a little ($ 25-35 per bag), the idea itself leads to righteous delight.

This venture even has a certain potential - a patented copper fabric blocks the transmission of a signal from a tag in the frequency range from 10MHz to 20GHz, while most smart cards transmit a signal at 13MHz and 15MHz. I admit to you honestly - if the next passport, which the passport desk of my beloved city gives me, contains an RDIF chip, I will personally make a “Faraday cover” with the country's main video blogger on the cover.
