Google expands Google News content

Google and a number of organizations that are members of the European Press Agency (EPA) have concluded an agreement according to which the search engine now has the right to use in its Google News service both content and photos belonging to EPA members.

Google Newsbase (to be more exact, news headlines and reduced illustrations in the Google News feed) will now expand with content from agencies like Belga (Belgium), EFE (Spain), Lusa (Portugal), Keystone (Switzerland), APA (Austria), PAP (Poland), as well as the Hungarian MTI and the Greek ANA.

The details of the deal, as is the case with the two-year-old agreements with Agence France-Presse, the Associated Press, the British Press Association and the Canadian news service CP, were not disclosed.
