This question has been tormenting for quite a long time, the answer to which would seem to be elementary: duplicate content.

Suppose there is a site, for example, with articles. The full version of the article is displayed on its personal link, example.com/article/hello-world , and a smaller version with only the text before kat is displayed in all other places. Moreover, these other places can be very much: on the pages of user profiles ( example.com/user/vasya ), on the pages of categories, tags, tops, various sorting parameters, in general, there are many options to show a short version of the article (and sometimes a complete if there is no kata).

Just in case, I’ll clarify: I don’t care how it affects the site’s rating, I need Google not to give links to all these pages, but only to one: the personal page of the article. After all, if he gives, for example, a link to the category in which this article is located, then by the time the user comes there, the article may already be on the next page or be removed from this category altogether. And if I can cut off the sorting parameters by putting them in the HTTP GET parameters and then banning everything after the question mark in robots.txt (as advised by Google’s webmasters help), then close the page in robots.txt, for example, example. I cannot com / user / vasya , as he will not visit this page at all then. How do habra people deal with this problem, and do they do it at all?
