The European Parliament has banned appeals "Miss" and "Mrs."

The leadership of the European Parliament has published a brochure “Gender Neutral Language” (“Gender-Neutral Language”), in which it recommends that only women with full names be addressed to the female part of parliament. Thus, the traditional appeals of "Mrs." and "Miss", "Madame" and "Mademoiselle", "Frau" and "Fraulein", "Senora" and "Senorita" are excluded.


According to the authors of the brochure, traditional appeals that determine the status of a woman in society — her married or single position — are discriminatory.

Also in the brochure it is recommended instead of complex words containing the “man” part, to use their synonyms: instead of “athlete” (“sportsman”) - “athlete” (“athlete”), instead of “statesman” (“statesman ") -" political leader "(" political leader "). The same recommendations also apply to professions - “fireman” (“fireman”), “policeman” (“policeman”), “salesman” (“seller”).

As it seemed to me, there seem to be stupid people in the European Parliament. And everything has spread, in my opinion, from the United States, from their tolerance, political correctness and in general.
