Fresh pictures of Mars

As you can see on the page with the unambiguous name http://www.google.com/mars/ , Google Mars began to receive fresh photos of the red planet's surface - they commented on this in the Google office: “Today we are entering the unexplored territory for the first time.”

Images (available for viewing in landscape / visible / infrared mode) were taken by a Themis camera mounted on a Mars Odyssey spacecraft. Of them, and already available photos from around the world, a map of the surface of Mars will be formed - right now you can see the real location of some Soviet and American rovers, dunes, canyons, rivers and craters of the planet. The detailing and the number of photos, of course, will only increase over time.
