Photosynth came to the iPhone

First of all, about Photosinte on Habré has been repeatedly written in various blogs. But, since it is possible to talk a lot about technology and it is developing, it seemed to me reasonable to start a separate blog. Join us!

Brief background

In mid-December, Live Labs unveiled the first iPhone application, Seadragon Mobile ( an article on this application ). In short, Seadragon Mobile is an application that allows you to view photo collections from Photosinteta from your iPhone. Then it was only about two-dimensional collections, and Photosynt is known for quite a lot different - the ability to view this collection in the form of a restored 3d-scene.

iSynth

iSynth is a new iPhone application that allows you to view the Photosynth collection in 3d mode.

It is worth noting that iSynth is not an application developed or supported directly by Microsoft, but there is nevertheless a definite connection. It was developed by Greg Pascale , a Brown University student, who had an internship in a team that made Photosynt last summer. Product support is provided by the author through GetSatisfaction .

Interestingly, the application developed by Greg not only allows you to view a collection of synths, but also displays a cloud of points (Points Cloud) and the position of the cameras during the shooting of photos.

Additional information, including application management, can be found on Greg's iSynth website .
