Criticism: "Configuring Firefox: remove hangs and devour memory"

I have also been using it for a long time and I love firefox, however, unlike the author of the topic. Configuring Firefox: we eliminate freezes and devouring memory , I don’t hang it up so often. In my opinion, what happens at the author is nonsense.
Now, actually, what I wanted to say. I wanted to draw attention to the fact that the author gave only keys, but did not give their descriptions. It is not clear: why should I put this or that key in one way or another? In addition, some key values are questionable. Therefore, I decided to bring some clarity.
So...

  1. browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewer = 0 . This value will lead to the fact that none of the visited pages will not be cached, and this, in turn, will lead to reloading the page from the server to which you decided to return again, for example, by clicking Back.
  2. network.http.pipelining = true and network.http.proxy.pipelining = true may well increase the speed of loading pages, as they allow you to send requests to the server without waiting for answers to previous requests, but network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 30 - nonsense, since this parameter can take values from 1 to 8 (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.pipelining.maxrequests here).
  3. nglayout.initialpaint.delay = 0 - means that the browser will start drawing the page as soon as it receives the first portion of data. But in this first portion may not be so much useful information. Doubtful need to change this parameter.
  4. network.dns.disableIPv6 = false — perform attempts to resolve names to IPv6 addresses. Under Linux, this value is set by default. It would probably be more correct to set it to true to disable such an attempt.
  5. content.notify.backoffcount = 5 - to be honest, I did not understand the description of this parameter. Something like, preventing unwanted redrawing of the resulting page.
  6. plugin.expose_full_path = true - will not affect the page loading speed in any way! And this parameter does this: when viewed in about: plugins, this value will show the plugin with the full path instead of just the name.
  7. ui.submenuDelay = 0 - does not affect the page loading speed in any way, as this parameter controls the delay between hovering the pointer over the browser submenu and displaying the contents of the submenu. UI..2A )
  8. configf.trim_on_minimize = true - this option allows Windows OS to swipe data from the memory occupied by firefox while its window is minimized. Yes, at this time the memory will be freed, but this may entail a long recovery from the state minimzed.
