Competition "Internet Mathematics 2009"
Yandex launched the next contest Internet Mathematics 2009 . According to the company, this year the competition is more focused on young people - students, graduate students, programmers and young scientists.
The participants' task is to obtain a document ranking formula using machine learning methods. To do this, they get real data - the signs of the “request-document” pairs and relevance assessments made by the assessors of Yandex. Solutions can be sent repeatedly until the end of the competition. Based on the part of the data, the current public rating of decisions will be formed. The winners of the competition will receive prizes, and the author of the best result has a chance to see how his formula will work when searching throughout the entire Yandex database.
Three winners are awarded cash prizes of 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 rubles.
