Many people know or remember such a game as RollerCoaster Tycoon, an economic amusement park simulator. And if someone does not know this game, then I think the article will be interesting to fans of this genre.
In this article I will tell the story of this game in the screenshots and brief reviews. The topic is nostalgic.

It all started in March 1999, when MicroProse released the first part.

In the first part of the game, 21 scripts are stitched (5 scenarios are open immediately).

The essence is quite simple: Build all sorts of rides and shoveling money (Euros, dollars, francs or something else - is decided in the options). Then you should bring the park to the mind, value and popularity. To help you in this will be stuffed wallets in the pockets of visitors, rushing along the paths and looking for something to your taste. And you - raise the prices for especially popular things, which are the “Russian hills” and, no matter how trite, the toilets ... If they break down - the newly hired mechanic will quickly fix everything (if he gets it quickly) - otherwise, why does he get paid? Note, the disgruntled will lower the rating of your town. True, hanging security guards will prevent cases of vandalism: special thanks to them (read the salary). Someone gorged himself, got rid of the bed and started climbing on the slides - the stomach does not stand up, janitor, rub it! (we tick you, mow the lawn, clean the trash can, and do not water the beds, let them dry). The financial side is implemented extremely simply - advertising campaigns and campaigns, development of new attractions and kiosks, renting and buying new land are made “from the bald” if there is enough money. And a bank loan if they are missing.

The second part was released in October 2002 by Infogrames.

The continuation is distinguished by new attractions, scenarios, locations and graphics since the year 99 almost did not change, except that the developers slightly sanded the corners. :)

Those who are not scared away by the graphics go to play the scenarios, and during the game they discover that the gameplay has not changed in any way conceptually! It is exactly the same as in the first part of the RCT! We build rides, ennoble the park, hire staff, develop new merry-go-rounds, pay loans and earn money. By the way, about making money: all levels in the game are divided into two ways of earning: in some you set prices for tickets directly on the rides, and at other levels you “withdraw” money from visitors only at the entrance. In the latter case, people ride on all the rides for free.
Scenarios have become a bit more varied: now, besides the classic missions a la “gather so many guests in the park by the end of such a year” or “raise the cost of your park by so many”, there are new tasks: to pay the loan, to achieve specified profit from all shops or attractions, and, finally, to build the n-th number of roller coasters, whose length and "fun level" should be no lower than the specified numbers.

Continuation of the game released Atari in 2004.

In the new part there was a 3D engine. Significantly improved gameplay. More intelligent visitors (pips), an improved mechanism for building slides. By the way, the slides that you built in the first two parts can be imported into the third. The game has 18 scenarios and a sandbox. You can easily make sports predictions and watch their results.

The main improvement over the previous parts is a fully three-dimensional engine, which makes it possible not only to drive independently on the built attractions, but also just to wander through the park as an ordinary visitor.
