Typograph 2.0 - waited!

Editors, proofreaders, web designers, web developers and bloggers have been waiting for this. Tiporgaf was supposed to be updated back in January , but is being updated only today. So glad to introduce you Typograph 2.0 !

Over the past year, I have repeatedly rethought my vision of typography in general and of my typographer in particular . I collected a lot of material, and despite the fact that right now I am announcing the second version, I am already working on the 3rd version.

I congratulate all of us, the main browsers have finally begun to support the characters:, & thinsp, & ensp, & emsp (the exception is Opera, but I will work on this). In this regard, we will get used to impose the web in a new way , using the correct white space characters and floating hyphenation.

Now I suggest to get acquainted with the list of changes:

NEW

• Now, more / less characters are replaced with mnemonics , while the tags are not touched .
• A rule has been added that catches some combinations of words with inches (for example, a 17 ″ monitor).
• Added rule typing minutes and seconds 123′12 ″.
• Added rule for hyphenation in complex prepositions: due , out of .
• Now, before typing, all soft transfers made by third-party algorithms are removed.
• Added the ability to set soft hyphenation.
• Added acronyms SEO, SMO, CMS, WYSIWYG, WYSIWYM.
• Added the ability to correctly typography lists copied from Word .
• Added & thinsp to all necessary rules, and <nobr> removed from these rules (6 items in total).
• Added rule processing point in .htaccess, .htpasswd
• A rule has been added that frames fragments in inseparable constructions, written by fractions ( railway , a / i, ...).
• The typographer now supports Habrahabr. When preparing articles for posting on Habr, you can use <habracut ... /> or HABR (more ...).

CHANGES

• Rewritten the algorithm of the engine, increased speed, reduced memory costs.
• The algorithm for the placement of acronyms was rewritten (Prêt-à-Porter was typed incorrectly).
• Changed some defaults in settings . Now, by default, the use of non-breaking constructions instead of non-breaking spaces is enabled and trapping of suspended words is disabled .
• Rewritten uninterrupted combining module.

SETTINGS

• A button “Reset” has been added to the settings , which resets them to their default values.
• A setting has been made that allows you to adjust the length of the word in which soft hyphens will be placed.
• Added a setting that allows <p> & nbsp; </ p> to be considered a correct line feed.

ERRORS

• Fixed operation of the remove tags button.
• Fixed rule removing spaces before punctuation.
• The rule attaching alliances to the words following them has been fixed.
• Fixed rule for typing phone numbers.
• Fixed the rule with the binding of particles, b , eh, li, g, ka.
• Fixed a processing rule, either, or something. (“I want a dress somehow , or like this” was typed incorrectly).

At first glance, not so much , but I found it worthy of a separate version.
Some functions, though stated, were not implemented by me. In particular, I still have not separated the text verification and typography for different buttons. Did not make a lot of settings and update the dictionary.

All this is to come , but first of all I plan to change the external "interface" of the project. Make it more fresh, modern, web-two-bit if you like.

What else in the near future:

1. Release of the Air version .
2. Implementing plugins for CMS editors and blogs .
3. English localization.
