Linux Laptops
This is my first post on Habré, although I read it a long time ago.
Actually, the goal of this topic is to find out the opinion of the IT community about one project that we (I and the partner) are currently launching.
Project : production of laptops with preinstalled OEM Ubuntu Linux.
Country : England (since I live here)

Why Ubuntu / Linux :
Well, firstly (of course, without holivars), you need to differ from competitors (Dell - with their Ubuntu, HP, Apple) :)
And secondly, the idea is that the end user purchases a laptop with an optimized and improved Ubuntu system for this particular equipment. By default, there are programs for all cases of life (office, Internet, multimedia, etc.) for the average user of course.
On the other hand, my partner says everything to me that only Windows is needed, since this is already a matter of habit for customers and that we will go far with Ubuntu.
Laptops : The manufacturer of the base (barebone) company Clevo. The first model (“Storm”) has the following characteristics:
15.4 "WXGA (1280x800) TFT LCD
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66 MHz (T5450)
Video: Built-in Intel GMA X4500HD
250 HDD
2 GB DDR2
DVD / RW, Wi-Fi, Webcam 1.3 MP, 3 USB Port, 7 card readers
Battery: 240 minutes
In general : everything works with a bang, Ubuntu also flies, respectively, slightly changed the interface - they made it more Windows-like (in the main menu), so that users would be more or less oriented :).
There is a preliminary agreement with pcworld - this is the largest chain of home appliances and electronics stores in England (such as Russian Eldorado), that they are ready for us to make a product presentation for them and if everything is ok, then by the end of the year our laptops may be in their stores (only in stock and online, on the shelves to display your goods you have to pay a lot).
Therefore I would like to ask - who thinks what about the whole idea?
