About the letter E

I would like to expose the myths associated with the letter Y. I emphasize, do not argue once again whether to write it or not, but simply to bring the facts related to the letter Y.

Myth one. The war is between supporters of the preservation of the letter E and supporters of its abolition.
This is not true. The war goes on between the consistent use of the letter E (I always write) and selective (I write only when it is not clear). No one calls for a complete abolition of the "points".

The second myth. "To write the letter E" (sequential use) is more correct than "not to write" (selective)
This is not true. The current rules prescribe the selective use of the letter E - “in all other cases the letter E is not written.” Consistent use of the letter E "is allowed at the request of the author or editor." Thus, “to write the letter E” - freedom, deviation from the language norm, and “not to write the letter E” - strict adherence to the rules

The third myth. The letter E was "canceled" relatively recently.
This is not true. The letter was officially "canceled" (prescribed selective use) in 1956. Moreover, from 1956 to 2006, the consistent use of the letter E directly contradicted the rules of spelling, i.e. was a mistake.

Myth Four. To write the letter E is an old Russian tradition.
The continuous use of the letter E was taken in Russian from 1942 to 1956.

The fifth myth. From the Russian language the letter E disappeared with the spread of machine printing.
It is accepted that the letter E has disappeared from use due to the extinction of the “pen” in favor of the “typewriter” and “Claudia”. Indeed, on the YTsUKEN layout, the letter E is located in the upper left corner of the keyboard, away from the hands of the blind typing user, and typing it is very inconvenient. However, the letter E gives no less, and even more inconvenience when writing than, the letter E cannot be written without taking the pen off the paper.

So, open the rules of Russian spelling and read
