Why is IE 6 so firmly ass (this word haunts me) in the user's mind? What is the portrait of those using IE 6 ? Will IE 6 drop its hooves? And what about those who have not yet understood?

The majority had, and a little over 20% of Internet users have, a feature to trust their habits. I admit, I also clung and did not want to change from IE. Now I do not find a single argument in favor of IE 6 , but there are four against:

1. No tabs;
2. Sites are most likely clumsily displayed;
3. After incorrectly closing the browser, the last viewed pages need to be searched again;
4. Saving of page happens with new request, but not from cache.

I remember the release of IE 5.5 , which compared to IE 5 was able to save a page with pictures; it was cool. But that was the year 2000. I remember the browser wars in which IE came out the winner. And since Netscape has only dust in the form of an engine under the free MPL (Mozilla Public License) license, IE 6 has become a monopolist. The thought that there is IE 6 and alternative browsers was saturated in the minds of users.

The problem of users is in the habit. Not that there is no possibility to download an update or another browser. Too lazy to accept change ... As for the portrait of IE 6 users, there is only one category that deserves to be thought of: “non-advanced” users. These are those who are not interested in all versions with versions and who simply want to use the Internet, mail , etc. They can be easily transplanted to new versions of browsers, explaining in one line that the browser is outdated and you need to download the update.



The problem of developers - in wasting your time on the layout and search for fixes for IE 6 . When it comes to commerce, you can spend your time for other people's money. Regarding my projects, I have already formed an opinion and I do not do support for IE 6 . My website humor sends gray-haired users to update their browser. Also acted Andrei Sabinin ( s_a_p ). On the site of our joint project, we have acted softer: a warning is displayed; at the same time, the site opens and works somehow on parole.

Recalling the DivX (video codec) output, a picture pops up before everyone as they ask each other: “Don't you know why the film is not shown? There is a sound, there are no pictures! ”What was the question and answer:“ Did you have a codec installed? ”The time of IE 6 came to an end, it so happened that the technologies do not stand still. I want to do a normal layout, and not “under IE 6 ” or any other single browser, I want to go forward, the benefit is everything. And while we think that this is not possible, all the same cars without any improvements will come off the assembly line of the VAZ, and the website developers will still make a fixed layout. Or will not :-)?
