“Dell and Intel have dirty hands, we demand 1.2 billion”

Probably, many people remember the funny story with which the recently forgotten Psion recently got out into the world, saying that the “netbook” has been a trademark of them since 1999. And so it began: calls for the Internet public and business to stop using the “trademark” for any reason, throwing stones from the gardens of Dell and Intel in the direction of Psion, and so on.

But, apparently, we will soon see the drama finale - after a lawsuit from the two already mentioned giants that the netbook brand should be canceled for several reasons (including the fact that in 10 years Psion sold in total only 4,100 its “right netbooks” is a ridiculous figure for the computer industry), Psion, without a loss, file a counterclaim against Intel, but in order to calm down and cover the “damage” inflicted on the company (“Intel knew that “Netbook” belongs to Psion and still continued to use this o definition ") the amount required is $ 1,200,000,000.
')
All of this is sad for one simple reason - in fact, Intel has not made any attempts to popularize the term “netbook” since the announcement of the Atom processor in the summer of 2008, but Psion probably doesn't give a damn about it. How to spit on the strange figures in their reports and statements - the fact that Psion produced only 4,000 copies of the netbook has already been installed, but how did the same company manage to sell 2 million accessories for netbooks in 2006, given the fact that in 2003 year, these computers left the market, Intel lawyers still have to figure it out

Surprisingly, at the moment of crisis, when an already difficult situation develops on the market, and Intel also makes huge investments in the production of 32-nm processors, the two companies decided to turn their attention to the half-trash Psion. And, I get the impression that since the two giants have turned their gaze down - soon there will not even be a wet place left.
