Many have probably heard about “the best job in the world” - the job of an island keeper in the Great Barrier Reef. For this position claimed 34 thousand people. A few days ago published a list of 50 people who got into the last round. It was the only representative of Russia. Her name is Julia, she comes from my native city - Petrozavodsk.


11 of these 50 people will be invited for a personal interview, in which the lucky one will be selected. Of these, 10 will be chosen by the organizers, and one person will be selected on the basis of a vote. At the time of writing the topic, Julia is in second place behind only the representative of Taiwan.

Hamilton Island is located in the Great Barrier Reef. Its area is five square kilometers. It is home to less than a thousand people. The keeper of the island will have to feed the turtles, blog and make photos and videos of the surroundings. Six months of such work, which takes about six hours a month, is estimated at 150 thousand Australian dollars.
