Microsoft will embed advertising in the next version of Office

Microsoft intends to embed in Office 14, the next version of its office suite, the display of advertisements, writes The Business Insider, citing the words of the head of Microsoft’s business division, Stephen Elop.

This measure will allow the company to earn even on pirated versions of Office. Ilop noted that the corporation will try to turn pirates into a source of revenue for the entire Windows program family.

It is not yet known how the version of Office 14 with ads will functionally differ from the paid one.

The exact release date of Office 14 is unknown, but the software package will be released no earlier than 2010. In January 2009, Microsoft sent an alpha version of Office 14 to its partners for testing. ( C )
