
A working model of a light-engine aircraft with a closed-type oval wing has been created at the Minsk enterprise Kamerton, the Belarusian Military Gazette reports in the article
“Ellipse Conquers the Sky” .
Regular aircraft can afford a relatively small angle of attack - only about 13 °. If this number is exceeded, the machine may lose control. But an assembly equipped with a closed-type oval wing can increase this angle. Video records prove that the device weighing 1360 kg with an engine capacity of only 260 l / s comes off at angles of attack of 17-19 °. Such maneuverability allows you to land or to take off from relatively small sites.

The next advantage is cost effectiveness. During the flight of an ordinary aircraft, vortex flows appear at the ends of the wings. The oval wing does not have such a disadvantage, which gives a gain in engine power by 30-40%, and therefore it accelerates with a small thrust.

The layout was also resistant to side wind exposure during takeoff and landing. The usual An-2, when the wind blows into it at a speed of 6 m / s, is forced to either change the course of take-off or cancel the flight altogether. And this aircraft can withstand side wind twice as strong.
According to the Minsk inventors, the idea of such a device has long been in the air. German, French, American designers have repeatedly and unsuccessfully tried to equip the aircraft with a closed wing type. All the results of their experiments were carefully analyzed, and the errors corrected. All the work from the beginning of theoretical calculations to the realization of the idea in the layout took 15 years.
At present, ground tests with jogging and approaching are performed on the aircraft (that is, the model accelerates and flies a meter). There is a process of patenting inventions in Belarus and Russia.
By the way, the head of the Bureau of Advanced Technologies "Kamerton", retired colonel Alexander Mikhailovich Anokhin says that designing and creating fundamentally new aircraft is not a priority area of activity, and Kamerton is developing navigation systems.
