Former mayor of Nizhny Tagil was accused of negligence in creating the site

Nikolay Didenko, the former mayor of Nizhny Tagil, was charged with negligence, Interfax news agency reported March 3.

The charge was brought in the framework of the criminal case on violations committed during the allocation of budget funds for the creation of the Nizhny Tagil website. According to the investigators, the city authorities did not analyze the costs of creating the site before announcing a competition for this work. The administration decided that the maximum amount of the contract could be 6.2 million rubles. Tandem LLC has responded to the announcement, which has requested 5,580,000 rubles for the creation of the site. The city authorities agreed to this price and signed the relevant acts.

The law enforcement authorities believe that in this way the administration of Nizhny Tagil ineffectively disposed of the budget. According to the newspaper Kommersant, experts estimate the work done by Tandem to create and maintain the site at 200 thousand rubles. By the way, the newspaper learned that this company still maintains the site of the city.

In addition to the site creation case, a case was initiated against Nikolay Didenko about the sale of municipal property in 2006. According to Interfax, investigators suggest that the proceeds from the transaction were not sent to the budget. In this case, Didenko may subsequently be charged with abuse of office.

Both criminal cases were instituted on the former mayor of Nizhny Tagil in 2008 after a prosecutor’s check. Shortly after the start of this test, Didenko was expelled from United Russia.

According to Kommersant, Didenko resigned as mayor in the fall of 2008. His term has expired, and he refused to participate in the new election campaign.
