NVIDIA drivers for Windows 7. Officially

For Windows 7, the beta of which has already been “touched” by a great many, video card drivers for Vista were well suited. However, through the system update applet (Windows Update) anyone could download the “native” NVIDIA drivers for Windows 7 from the Microsoft website. There were already three updates in my memory. Just in case, I will clarify: this is true for NVIDIA devices, since I could not check AMD cards and drivers due to the lack of hardware.

However, the vast majority of Windows Update users prefer to download the driver from the GPU manufacturer’s site (in our case, NVIDIA) and install the whole thing manually. And yesterday, finally, it became possible to do.

NVIDIA has officially announced the availability of new graphics drivers at www.nvidia.ru for NVIDIA GeForce GPU under Windows 7 Beta. According to company representatives, this announcement is the beginning of a regular update of NVIDIA drivers for the future Microsoft operating system.

On the NVIDIA.ru website there are drivers 181.71. They support the new Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) v1.1 from Microsoft, of course, they are excellent friends with DirectX 10 and, according to information from the press release, provide optimal visual possibilities in Windows 7.
