While the “war” of humanity against Skynet media corporations against the “pirate bay” is in full swing, I propose to distract a little and consider one useful feature of torrents. It’s possible that what I’m writing about has already been known to everyone. But my post is for those who are not familiar with this opportunity. The fact is that I belong to the category of users who still use the Internet at a speed of 64 kbps. You understand that downloading large files at this speed is a whole problem. Between 2 options: simple download and torrents, downloading is preferable because of the advantage in speed from 15 to 30% (well, besides this, this does not affect the rating). But the constant on-off computer for sure will lead to the fact that any file of 2.5 GB in size, downloaded a week and a half, will be damaged. And here torrents come to the rescue. It is enough to find the torrent with the same file (of course, the number of bytes in the files should be the same), put the downloaded file in the right folder and start the torrent. After a few (tens) minutes, your file will miraculously recover. Of course, it is advisable to inquire in advance about the existence of similar torrents. :)
