Competition for finding bugs in the Native Client (with cash prizes)

Most companies come to the issue of finding bugs in their products from two sides: either quietly looking for holes themselves, or throwing a cry to an open developer community. Google decided to use both of these methods and therefore launched a contest for finding bugs in the Native Client code .

Native Client is a Google technology that allows you to run plain x86 code directly in the browser.

Individual participants and teams of testers are accepted to participate in the competition (but not firms). During the entire period, they will have to quickly document the bugs in a special tracker, and then compile a list of the ten most important bugs for the independent jury found during the entire duration of the competition.

To further fuel the interest of developers, Google allocates small prizes to the top five "hackers". The first prize is $ 8,192, the second is $ 4,096, the third is $ 2,048, the fourth and fifth are $ 1024 each.

Among other things, such a competition can be the basis for building a new community of cross-platform developers who are well versed in the Native Client code. The contest will run until May 5, you can register anonymously.
