The management has changed in Rambler Media

Rambler Media announced a reshuffle in the top management of the company. Mark Opzumer is appointed CEO of Rambler Media. The duties of financial director entered Arthur Akopyan.

The appointment of Mark Opzumera as CEO is a logical step in the development of Rambler Media after an initial public offering (IPO) held in July 2005, the company said.
Mark Opzumer, 49 years old, an expert in the field of Internet, communications and media, was a member of the Board of Directors of Rambler Media since 2005. Mr. Opzumer has 24 years of management and investment experience. From July 2001 to December 2003, he was Managing Director and Vice President of YAHOO! Europe, engaged in the development of the company, in particular, the service component. To work in the European branch of YAHOO! Mr. Opzumer was Deputy General Director of the publishing company Hodder Headline plc, and before that he was commercial and financial director of Virgin Communications Ltd. Since 2003, Mr. Opzumer has been a consultant and independent director on the boards of several companies, including Newbay Software Limited since June 2004, Oxigen II Limited since July 2004, Web Reservations International Ltd since March 2006, MIVA Inc since August 2006, and Entertainment One Ltd since February 2006. In addition, Marc Opzumer was Chairman of the Audit Committee of Autonomy Corporation plc from October 2003 to October 2004, and Chairman of the Audit Committee and Independent Director of Rambler Media from 2005. Mr. Opzumer is a founding member and director of Bond Capital Partners Ltd, which specializes in providing structured finance for European mid-cap companies. Marc Opzumer is a qualified financier with an MBA from the IMD business school in Lausanne. Mr. Opzumer is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Canada.
The previous CEO, Irina Hoffman, came to work at Rambler Media in 2004. Under her leadership, the company made an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange. From today, Irina Hoffman will join the Board of Directors of the company as an independent director and, at the end of the transition period, Irina Hoffman will depart from the operational management of Rambler Media.
Arthur Akopyan, 33, moved to Rambler Media from the Synterra group of companies, the largest Russian telecommunications operator and Internet provider, where he served as CFO and Vice President of Corporate Finance since August 2005. Arthur Akopyan was responsible for all aspects of financial management, including the implementation of several significant acquisitions and acquisitions, business restructuring and implementation of IFRS. Prior to working in the Synterra group, he served as financial director of PeterStar CJSC, the leading alternative telecommunications operator in St. Petersburg, from 2001 to 2005. Previously, Akopyan was also Regional Financial Director at Metromedia International Telecommunications, Inc. from 1997 to 2001. Arthur Hakobyan is a qualified accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Chartered Accountants since 2001.
Previous CFO James Mullins leaves the company and the Board of Directors of Rambler Media.
