Is coworking contrary to freelancing?

As you know, the first and so far the only coworking center “Korovka” opened in Dnepropetrovsk, about which I was quick to report on this habratopic.

Wikipedia: Coworking

When I was engaged in inviting freelancers to our center, I found that many oppose co-working to freelancing, they say, this is the same office work from which a year earlier the freelancer ran home. At first, this argument discouraged me, and I myself almost ceased to understand the essence of co-working, although I intuitively understood that there was somewhere a great delusion. But, after thinking for a short time (about a week), I put everything in its place.

There is an opinion that the office is oppressed by the accumulation of office equipment, office furniture, renovation and employees in official clothes, but this is an erroneous stereotype. In fact, “despondency” is created not by the office environment and environment, but by the position of a hired employee in most of our (Russian, Ukrainian) offices, and office furniture is simply associated with it, although there is nothing bad in the furniture itself.

What, after all, creates displeasure and inconvenience in "normal work"? I determined the following points for myself:
1. The bestial attitude of the direct and indirect authorities.
2. The need to communicate with unpleasant customers.
3. Unfair distribution of income between “hard workers”, “top management” and “office plankton”.
4. The need to comply with or abide by the stupid, useless or self-centered orders of the authorities, the provisions of the guidelines, "optimal algorithms of work."
5. Work in unpleasant conditions: basement, inappropriate climate, unpleasant illumination, etc.
6. Control of the daily routine on the part of the authorities and demands to it: reprimands for being late, the manager's office for a smoking-room and a coffee machine take into account the “glance” of the office.
7. Employees, annoying by their stupidity. (there are after all).

That's what freelancers have run away from, this is what forced them to sacrifice stability (although, as shown by the current dismissals, very dubious) of work in the company in favor of independent work, this is what drove them home.

Co-working as a form of work, and not at all an organizational structure, does not bring with it all these misfortunes, but only creates additional conveniences and opportunities. Therefore, they do not need to be neglected or even more afraid, because the co-working center is the complete opposite of office and work with the boss.

PS Empty seats in the "Cow" is still there.
